Extentions for smart routing and avoidance”

Submitted by bard on Thursday, 10 June, 2021 - 13:01
Extension object
A draft of what has become the TMP publication
Extension information

One is an update of an existing extension that was the basis of the TMP publications and more specifically ReroutingManagement 2. This was taken from a draft available in 2018 of this work. The extension created for Socrates should not be implemented as the final TMP related extensions have been modified during the standardisation process.

Apart from that an extension has been made to carry the Socrates specific elements with regard to the requested services and accompanying arrangements from the Service providers.

A third extension is defined to the ServiceInformation class. This is to express that in case of a full Parking an alternative destination can be provided, even when coming from different directions.

Organization description

SOCRATES2.0 is a pan-European project that brings together road authorities, service providers and car manufacturers. Together they set new standards to share and integrate traffic information. This enables effective traffic management and opens the door to innovative traffic information and navigation services. It will make traffic smoother, safer and more sustainable. Hence our pay-off: fast, safe and green. SOCRATES2.0 also provides the essential building blocks to prepare Europe for the future of self-driving cars.

Socrates 2.0 Regulated Access Zone Publications (not to be used!!)

Submitted by bard on Thursday, 10 June, 2021 - 11:29
Extension object
Level C extension
Extension information

THIS EXTENSION SHOULD not be deployed. The UVARBox result as available in DATEX II version 3.4 is THE european standard.

Extension on DATEX II to express the restrictions on roadusage in zones/area's. These are usually applied as Low emission zone's, zone's with limited vehicle access (for trucks) and or for loading and unloading etc in pedestrian zones etc.

There are two interrelated publications: the RegulatedAccessZoneTable, containing the static characteristics of the zone. In some situations a dynamic element is part of the regulation (e.g. triggered by pollution or in case of events that require special opening of stretches of road) The fact that specific roads can be exemted or activated dynamically is in the Table. The actual activation is in another publication: RAZDynamicActivationPublication.

Profile for Safety Related Traffic Information (SRTI) created from in-vehicle data

Profile object
SituationPublication
Profile information

This is a profile for SRTI content created out of access to in-vehicle data (so called Level 2/Level 2 prime, denoted as L2/L2'), which is used in the scope of a Proof-of-Concept currently carried out by a number of members of the SRTI Data Taskforce who have signed a corresponding Memorandum of Understanding. The partners active in this PoC to create SRTI content have access to L2/L2' in-vehicle data and create SRTI content out of this. The resulting SRTI feed is published based on this profile. The profile is based on the DATEX II v3.0 pre-assembled Situation model - as available via the download part of datex2.eu - and has been created using the SRTI Recommended Reference Profile to ensure compliance with Delegated Regulation (EU) 886/2013, which is available via the data profile wizard also available on datex2.eu in the tooling section.

The profile essentially covers those instantiatable classes specialised from SituationRecord, which represent the objects that can be assigned to the eight basic categories of safety-related information denoted in the Delegated Regulation. The selected encoding elements follow the mapping table for DR886 to various standards, which is currently prepared.

The location referencing options have been chosen according to the preferences of the SRTI service creators in the PoC. With respect to OpenLR, the profiles is based on a small Level B extensions that provide the options to use OpenLR Binary encoding instead of the OpenLR modelling approach taken in the LocationReferencing package.

The corresponding schemas are available at https://datex2.eu/profiles/srti/fromvehicledata/v2.

The purpose of the Data Task Force is to take the first steps towards data sharing for Safety-Related Traffic Information in the European Union.

The Data Task Force is the first project in the European Union and the biggest project in the world focusing on improving road safety by means of the large-scale use of vehicle data. The project is also unique because of the profound public-private cooperation.

Traffic management response evaluation extension

Submitted by iancornwell on Monday, 19 November, 2018 - 18:10
Status definition refers to ISO 14817
Draft
Extension object
The objective is publication of quantitative evaluation of traffic management plans.
The primary extension objects are of class EvaluatedActionsPublication and EvaluationResultsPublication.
Extension information

This is a DATEX II extension model for the publication of quantitative evaluation of traffic management plans.

The model can express results from an evaluation service, for example a predictive evaluation service with short-term traffic prediction and what-if scenario modelling.

Although the model has not been implemented and tested in software in this precise form, it is based on a similar (non-DATEX) model that has been implemented and shown to support integration of systems.

Issues with PositionConfidenceElipse

Submitted by Josef Kaltwasser on Friday, 3 August, 2018 - 13:51

Website

The v3.0 Level A model contains a new class PositionConfidenceEllipse. The definition property of this class states that it describes an ellipsoidal shape that describes the positional accuracy of the point corresponding to "a predefined confidence level (e.g. 95 %)". This confidence value is not stated anywhere in the model! Knowing an ellipsoidal confidence area without knowing the corresponding confidence level seems useless.

Proposal:
1) Add an attribute to the class to specify the corresponding confidence level in %.

venue of public event

It would be very valuable to have a new String attribute "venueName" in PublicEvent.

That has been in place for years in the UK traffic management system specification UTMC, and has been heavily used. But it is surely valuable in all countries.

GenericSitutionRecord is abstract

GenericSituationRecord is abstract in the model. It should have been concrete. This makes is impossible to use the class as a hook class for levelB extensions. It is correct on GenericPublication.
The problem is fixed by unchecking the static checkbox on the GenericSituationRecord class.

This meens that we have, according to me, a severe bug in 2.0 and also in the standard part 3.

In practise, this meens for us in Sweden, that we have to continue to create some level C sevices instead of level B.
